Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”) and the operators of Smol.Codes (“Service,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the code snippet storage platform available at https://smol.codes.
By accessing or using this Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
1. Service Description
Smol.Codes is a free, secure, temporary code snippet storage application that provides users with the ability to create, store, and share code snippets. The Service includes automatic encryption for all stored content, temporary storage with automatic expiration, support for multiple programming languages, and user account management capabilities.
2. User Registration and Authentication
2.1 Account Requirement
Use of the Service requires creation of a user account. Users may register through:
Email address with one-time password (OTP) authentication
Third-party OAuth providers (Google OAuth, GitHub OAuth)
2.2 User Representations
By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:
You are at least thirteen (13) years of age
All registration information provided is accurate, current, and complete
You will maintain the accuracy of such information
You are responsible for all activities occurring under your account
2.3 Authentication Method
The Service employs OTP-based authentication sent to your registered email address for login and account deletion processes. Traditional password authentication is not utilized.
3. Content Storage and Expiration
3.1 Automatic Expiration
Unregistered Users (Guest): Code snippets automatically expire and are permanently deleted after fifteen (15) days
Registered Users: Code snippets automatically expire and are permanently deleted after thirty (30) days
3.2 Permanent Deletion
Upon expiration, all content is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems. No backup copies are maintained, and recovery of expired content is not possible.
3.3 Encryption
All code snippets are automatically encrypted upon storage. This security measure is applied universally and cannot be modified by users.
4. Content Ownership and Licensing
4.1 User Content License
By uploading content to the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content solely for the purposes of operating and providing the Service.
4.2 Content Analysis Rights
We reserve the right to analyze uploaded content for purposes of security monitoring, content moderation, system diagnostics, and service improvement.
4.3 User Responsibility
You retain sole responsibility for ensuring that you possess all necessary rights and permissions to upload and share any content submitted to the Service.
5. Prohibited Content and Conduct
Users are strictly prohibited from uploading, storing, or sharing:
Malicious software, including but not limited to malware, viruses, trojan horses, and ransomware
Content that infringes upon intellectual property rights of third parties
Illegal content or content that violates applicable laws and regulations
Hate speech, discriminatory content, or material that harasses or threatens individuals or groups
Content that violates these Terms or applicable community standards
6. Service Usage and Limitations
6.1 Fair Use
Users must utilize the Service reasonably and in accordance with its intended purpose. Attempts to abuse, overload, or compromise system functionality are prohibited.
6.2 Service Modifications
We reserve the right to implement additional usage restrictions, modify service features, or establish rate limits as necessary to maintain service quality and availability.
7. Content Management and User Controls
7.1 User Content Control
Users may delete their own code snippets at any time through the Service interface.
7.2 Service Content Moderation
We reserve the right to remove, without prior notice, any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be inappropriate or harmful to the Service or other users.
8. Account Termination
8.1 User-Initiated Termination
Users may delete their accounts at any time. Account deletion results in:
Permanent deletion of all associated code snippets and content
Permanent deletion of account data
Anonymization of any remaining tracking information
8.2 Service-Initiated Termination
We may suspend or terminate user accounts for violations of these Terms. Terminated accounts result in permanent deletion of all associated content and data.
9. Service Availability and Disclaimers
9.1 Service Provision
The Service is provided on an “AS-IS” and “AS-AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
9.2 No Warranties
We expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:
Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
Guarantees of service availability, reliability, or uninterrupted operation
Warranties regarding data security, integrity, or preservation
Warranties of accuracy or completeness of service results
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 Liability Limitations
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
Loss of data, content, or information
Service interruptions or technical failures
Security breaches or unauthorized access
Damages resulting from user-generated content
Business interruption or loss of profits
10.2 Maximum Liability
Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us for the Service, which is zero dollars ($0) as the Service is provided free of charge.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Service, its operators, administrators, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising from:
Your use of the Service
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights
Content you upload, store, or share through the Service
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
12.1 Applicable Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Chile, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12.2 Dispute Resolution
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration conducted in Chile in accordance with Chilean arbitration procedures. The arbitration shall be conducted in the Spanish language unless otherwise agreed by the parties.
12.3 Jurisdiction
For matters not subject to arbitration, the courts of Chile shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
13. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to users through:
Notice posted on the Service
Email notification to registered users
Other reasonable means of communication
Continued use of the Service following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be severed from these Terms, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the Service regarding the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, understandings, negotiations, and discussions.
